If you are a Welfare organisation with a charity number then, once authorised, you will be granted full look up rights. (If you do not have a charity number then you will need to email welfaresupport@animaltracker.co.uk with the microchip details and the relinquishment paperwork / or details of how the animal came into you and then Animal Tracker will manually process the update).
If you already have an authorised account with us, please log in. You can then scroll down in your account page to the box that reads ‘Microchip Search’ [pictured below].
Please enter the microchip number in this box and, under the ‘Reason for Look-up’ drop-down menu, select that the animal has been relinquished. The system will then run a search of our records to check it is one we hold. If the microchip is held on another database then this will be displayed and you will be redirected to visit their Site.
Once searched, the details we hold will be displayed and you will be asked to confirm who relinquished the animal to your organisation. Once an option has been selected, you will be able to click ‘Transfer Keepership’ to register the animal’s microchip to your organisation. There is also a space to add notes that you feel would be useful for us to hold against the microchip record.
If the animal is then re-homed, you will be able to initiate a transfer of keepership from your account under 'Your Animals'. This transfer of keepership will be free of charge for the new keeper into a basic pet owner account.
If you cannot see the keeper details we hold then it could be that we have an admin block on the record due to holding additional information. In this instance please email your request to welfaresupport@animaltracker.co.uk
Please remember if you wish your organisation's details to remain on the microchip when re-homed please tick that option in your account page. To learn more click here.
